Port Blair, Mar 03: The RSC Swimming Competition organized in coordination with Department of Youth Affairs & Sports began today at Swimming Pool of Netaji Stadium. The Chairman, RSC, Mr. K. Ganeshan flagged off the competition. Speaking on the occasion, he opined that swimming is an exercise which energizes every part of the body and the present season is ideal for organizing the sports in the islands.
The Chairman also stated that RSC is organizing badminton, volleyball, football, TT and cricket tournaments and it has added swimming also. The competition began with heats for 50 mtr men’s free style. The Secretary, RSC, Mr. P. Saigal was also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the final matches of all the events will be held on Mar 4 at 6 pm. the Secretary-cum-Director (Education), Mr. D.N. Singh will be the chief guest.
