Port Blair, Feb 26 : The Andaman and Nicobar Islands today got its first Movie theatre ‘Diviyam Talkies’ after a gap of nearly 13 years, when all old fashioned and loss making movie theatre were closed down one by one.
The Chief Secretary of A & N Administration, Mr Anand Prakash today inaugurated the Movie Theatre.
The splendidly designed complex ‘Diviyam Talkies’ at Pathergudda has two cine halls, Priyam and Diviyum, each with seating capacity of 110 and 108 respectively and will screen latest Bollywood, Hollywood and regional movies daily in the complex. The movie ‘Highway’ and ‘Bramann’ will be screened since 27 February 2013.
According to reports one theatre will screen latest Hindi movies, while the other will screen regional movies. Initially, there will two shows daily in both the theatres, which is subsequently be increased as per public demand.
The theatres are equipped with 2K Projectors (Highly Digitalized, Hollywood movies, HD).
