Total Negligence leads to total wastage of tax-payers’ money

Neil Island, Feb 17: Nearly a decade back the Fisheries Department had constructed a Fish Market for the benefit of Fishermen and also for the convenience of General Public, spending lakhs of tax-payers’ hard earned money.
But due to total negligence and lack of planning the Fish Market was constructed far-away from Neil Island’s main market, which forced fishermen to say no to the Fish Market and continue selling fish from the road side areas, close to main market.
PRI members alleged that the Fish Market was constructed without consulting with them or the Fishermen, which resulted in such wastage of public money.
Making mockery of things, now the CCS has started storing LPG inside the unoccupied fish market.
The matter does not end here now a new fish market has been constructed to provide shelter to the fishermen at the Neil Island Bazaar. Such wasteful expenditure of public money shows how insensitive the Administration is towards spending funds allocated by Government of India.
When contacted the a senior officer of Fisheries Department told Andaman Sheekha accepted that one such Fish Market was constructed long back but he said that the work was taken up after due consultation of PRI members.
“I have no idea about the new Fish Market. Yes we have heard that now CCS is keeping LPG cylinder inside the Fish Market we had constructed. I shall ask for report that who has given permission to the CCS to use the Fish Market,” said a senior officer or Fisheries department, who doesn’t want his name to be quoted.
Such casual answers after wasting lakhs of hard earned tax payers’ money proves how serious the department is towards the welfare fishermen and public.
