Port Blair, Jan 03: MV Aqua Marine, the Tourist Ferry that capsized near North Bay on 26 Jan 2014 has been salvaged today by Andaman and Nicobar Police, with the help of Navy Divers. According to reports yesterday the ferry was dragged underwater and brought nearly 50 mtrs close to Marine Shore and today with the help of high tide the Ferry was salvaged by using inflatable buoys. A large number of people gathered at the Chatham Foreshore Road near Marine Dockyard to witness the salvage operation, which took more than eight hours to complete.
Andaman and Nicobar Police will now seize the ferry as case property and examine it thoroughly to understand the actual reason behind the accident.
