Port Blair, Feb 03: The Daily Rated workers of Baratang Forest Division were under Relay Hunger Strike since 07/01/2014. In order to settle down the issue a meeting was convened in the chamber of the Chief Secretary on 28/01/2014, wherein the Member of Parliament Mr. B.P Ray, Mr. Chandrachuran and the union leader of Baratang Mazdoor Union were also present.
In the meeting the Chief Secretary of A & N Administration has decided to settle the issues for regularization of their service within 60 days from the date of withdrawal of hunger strike. In pursuant of that the leaders of Baratang Mazdoor Union has withdrawn their relay strike in the evening of 28/01/2014.
