Port Blair, Jan 22: The PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma has earnestly requested the Lt Governor to consider introduction of MA (Bengali) in JNRM and MG College and also B.Ed course in Bengali in Tagore college, since these students due to want of further education in Bengali becoming frustrated as most of them don’t have financial stability to go to mainland for getting MA (Bengali) and B.Ed in Bengali which are required for getting jobs as teachers or in other profession.
He has also requested to introduce Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Microbiology in above colleges which are very much important subjects of studies for AN Islands, as Biotechnology is important because it creates the ability to produce an increased amount of agricultural products to sustain life. As projected levels of population increase and the natural resources are being depleted biotechnology will fill the gap. This is a viable method for maintaining the ability to feed everyone.
While Biochemistry is actually a dynamic, exciting science that that contributes important information to biology, medicine, nutrition, agriculture, physiology, genetics, and immunology; practically all of the primary specialties on the life sciences and Microbiology is the study of microbes and their interaction with humans, animals, plants and the environment. Kuldeep has stated many parents have requested him to submit their demands for introduction of these subjects for the benefit and better future of their children to the Lt Governor who is always there to help the students as passing out of these job oriented courses may allow them job opportunity in Forest Deptt, CARI, ZSI and ICMR etc.
