Port Blair, Jan 22: The Island Protection Forum’s President Mr. M.T.Musthafa, Vice President Mr. Shivanandan along with seven team members met the Lt. Governor of A&N Islands today at Raj Niwas regarding various burning issues of Islanders such as Introduction of domicile condition (i.e. local Certificate) for Job Opportunity in the Islands; Immediate filling-up of the all vacant posts under all department of Administration; Increase Medical/ Engineer seats at mainland college allotted by the Government of India; Enhancement of no. of seats for Islanders in College /Technical institution of A&N Islands. According to details the Lt. Governor has assured that the Administration will come up with solutions to the above issues.
Earlier the proposed rally of IPF was cancelled as the Police Department refused to give permission for the rally and dropped the members of IPF from different areas to Tiranga Park. However in Neil, Havelock, Baratang and Mayabunder IPF members brought out rallies.
