Port Blair, Jan 21: Mr. SBS Deol, former DGP of A & N Police has worked in his father’s coaching Academy – The Minerva Academy, Chandigarh from the age of thirteen to the age of twenty four.
The Academy sepcialises in training young men and women as to all aspects of the S.S.B. (Services Selection Board) examination for selection as officers in the Army, Navy and Air Force. More than 40,000 of its students have become officers since 1955.
In the Islands, there is no knowledge about how to prepare oneself for these tests or even what these tests are. The youth of these Islands however, possess the potential to do exceedingly well.
Therefore, Mr. SBS Deol has requested that any candidates (of any age) who are desirous of joining the Armed Forces as Class-I Officers to meet him in the Andaman Club on Friday the 24th of January at 3 PM so that an initial briefing of two hours can be imparted by him. There will be no charge. “Qualifying in the written test is the responsibility of the candidates and will not be covered,” Mr. Deol said in a press release.
