Port Blair, Jan 15: The Government Employees Federation, A&N Islands has submitted a memorandum of demands to President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee through Lt. Governor, A&N Islands on 11.01.2014 at Raj Niwas, Port Blair. In the said memorandum the president of GEF Mr. P.Kannan has placed some demands viz Air fare Concession to Islanders at par with North Eastern Region; Timely conduct of DPCs for feeder grade staff to DANICS Posts; Immediate release of salary and wages of Employees of ANIFPDCL; Lifting of Ban on approved created posts of direct recruitment/promotional posts attracted Ban due to non-filling of posts in the prescribed time limit; Regularization of service of daily rated mazdoors (DRMs) working under A&N Administration quite a long time by giving one time settlement; Delegation of power to Lt. Governor for creation of Group “C” and “B” (Non-Gazetted) posts; Setting up of Andaman Civil Aviation Department for operation of Air service by own Air Crafts for Island –Mainland and Inter-Island sectors at concessional rate for Islanders; Post of sufficient IAS Commissioners to A&N Administration; Setting-up of Andaman Service Commission; Increase of Ships and Shipping Services; Implementation of pay structure of Central Govt. employees to employees of A&N Admn. ; Recruitment of local candidates in the Government service under A&N Administration; Extension of Children Education Allowances for higher studies to the children of Govt. servant studying education in Island and Mainland and to grant of 2nd Class cabin entitlement in Ship Journey on LTC/ FSP to all group “C” employees drawing grade pay of Rs. 1800/- in A&N Administration.
