Port Blair, Jan 06: Inspector General VSR Murthy, PTM, TM, Commander, Coast Guard Region (Andaman and Nicobar) laid the foundation stone for the construction of Coast Guard Officers Mess and Married Accommodation complex at the Coast Guard land at Hut Bay, Little Andaman, on Monday, 06 January, 2014.
The works project, which is to a tune of approximately 15 crores, will be one of the biggest infrastructure projects on the island of Little Andaman. This project, whilst boosting the existing capability and self reliance of the CG station, will also aid in abetting the economic prosperity of the island through employment opportunities to the localities.
The foundation laying ceremony was held in the presence of Commandant KL Arun, Commanding Officer of ICGS Hutbay. Representatives from local administration including ALHW, APWD, Panchayat Samiti and Tahsildar were present on the occasion.
