Jayanti Natarajan assures to resolve issue of A&NFPDCL
Port Blair, Dec. 19: A press release issued by the MP office today said that the Minister of Environment & Forest, Smt. Jayanti Natarajan and the Joint Secretary, Home Affairs, Shri I. S. Chahal have assured to resolve the issue regarding revival of A&N Islands Forest Plantation Development Corporation Limited and issue of non disbursement of salaries to the employees of the Corporation expeditiously.
The Minister of Environment & Forest, Smt. Jayanti Natarajan in response to the letter written by the MP has informed that a request for enhancement of the fund provision up to 17 crores for disbursement of salaries to the employees of Corporation for the current financial year has also been taken up with the Minister of Finance for amicable settlement of issue.
“However, in order to tide over the present situation, the Lt. Governor, A & N Islands has been pleased to sanction Rs one crore as an immediate relief for disbursement of one month salaries to the workers of the Corporation,” the release added.
In view of the above action, the Ministry has requested to Shri Bishnu Pada Ray for withdrawal of his proposed ‘Dharna’ from Dec. 19 in the Parliament premises, a communication from MP Bhawan said.
