Port Blair, Dec 01: The Annual Day function of Navy Children School (NCS), Port Blair aptly named “Melange” 2013 was celebrated at Dr B R Ambedkar Auditorium on 29 Nov 13. It unveiled the innate potential of the children in the performing arts ie singing, dancing and acting. The creative talent of the blooming buds impressed the parents, management and other guests.
The function was inaugurated by Dr Shashi Kumar, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests. Andaman & Nicobar Islands by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The Principal welcomed the audience and highlighted the major achievements of the school in the academic year. This was followed by an awe-inspiring cultural fiesta by around 500 students. This included breathtaking dance forms of India, a skit on the importance of conserving the environment, a National pride act which instilled a feeling of patriotism and a skit on women empowerment in India. The rock band of NCS thoroughly entertained the audience. It was an evening of music and colour. Where in youth put their best foot forward displaying team sprint and camaraderie.
The prizes were distributed by Mrs Rashmi Kumar to the proficiency award winners. The Chief Guest in his address lauded the students and teachers for their excellent display of enthusiasm, talent and team spirit. The entire auditorium reverberated with patriotism and zeal as the crowd stood up for the National Anthem.
