Port Blair, November 27: The Department of Art arid Culture, A&N Administration in collaboration with Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Kolkata and South Zone Cultural Center, Thanjavur, Government of India is going to organise ‘Festival of Classical Dances’ on 7th & 8th December 2013 at Port Blair. Renowned Classical exponents in Kathak and Manipuri Classical dances are being deputed by EZCC whereas SZCC is deputing Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi Classical Dancers to perform during the two-day festival.
In this regard, Department of Art and Culture invites applications from the senior, guru level classical exponent from these islands to perform during the festival alongwith the visiting artists. Only two such artists shall be considered for selection to perform during the festival. Interested classical exponent can submit their applications in the Directorate of Art and Culture, Cellular Jail Complex, Port Blair. Details can be obtained over phone No.230117.
