Port Blair, Nov 14: The timely action taken by the A & N Fire Services personnel averted a major fire mishap, which broke out in semi RCC building, infront of Head Post Office, Port Blair this morning. The actual reason of the fire is yet not known. No one reportedly sustained any injury in this accident.
According to reports, nearly three people were living in the building and all are safe. Soon after fire call, five water tenders reached the spot and after 45 minutes of fire fighting the fire was doused.
As per rough estimate there was loss of property of about one lakh rupees while the Fire service was able to save Rs. 30 lakh, worth property, the building. “Due to heavy smoke the fire fighters struggled to douse the fire in difficult situation but I am happy with the fire service jawans,” officer of Police Fire Service, Mr. Jagadish Verma told Andaman Sheekha today.
Thanx fire service personnel. Good to hear nothing happened much nor any one was injured.
