Port Blair, November 13: National Press Day will be observed in the islands together with the rest of the country on November 16, 2013.
To mark the occasion a seminar will be organised at Hawabill Nest, Neil Island on the theme ‘Role of Media in Serving Public Interest’ by the Directorate of Information & Publicity.
Prof. Anand Pradhan, Associate Professor, Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi will be the main speaker at the seminar besides media persons. A team of media persons will be leaving from Port Blair on 15th November, 2013 to participate in the observance of the day, which will also include taking stock of the developmental activities there besides the seminar before returning to Port Blair on 17th November, 2013. Meanwhile, a lecture on Journalism for the students of MA Journalism of JNRM is scheduled to be delivered by Shri Anand Pradhan on 14th November, 2013 at 3:30 PM.
