Port Blair, Nov 08: The Jan Kranti Party, A & N organized a public meeting at Bambooflat on 7th November 2013. Mr. Prakash Minj, President of the Party presided over the meeting. In his speech he insisted on grant of OBC status to old residents of A & N Islands, 4% reservation of posts for Ranchi Community in Govt. services, filling up of all vacant posts in all Departments, connectivity between Bambooflat to Junglighat Jetty, smoke test should be at the time of fitness.
Mr. Carlus Belung, Vice President welcomed the gathering which was more than 200 and spoke at length about the necessity of a Regional Party in A & N Islands. He mentioned about the prevailing socioeconomic condition in these Islands. He said the employment problem is a scourge.
Mr. Prabal Ram, Secretary highlighted the increasing high price rise. He also suggested that the mid day meals should be improved both quality and quantity wise.
Mr. K.V.Ram Babu, General Secretary highlighted the importance to develop Shoal Bay as a Tourist attraction, L.P.G. Counter- cum- stock room at Ferrargunj Tehsil, Wimberligunj Assistant Engineer should be shifted from Bangla Pahad to R.C.D Executive Engineer Office Wimberligunj, Increase of Medical Facilities all over A & N Islands for the period from 1978 to 2004. The meeting ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Khalid, a communication from JKP said here today.
