Port Blair, Nov 07: A man recently fainted at Private Bus Terminus at Mohanpura, leaving fellow travelers confused and clueless. Some responsible citizens came forward to help the fainted passenger but to their utter dismay there was no water available nearby. Finally the fellow travelers bought a bottle of mineral water from nearby shop to sprinkle on the victim’s face to get him back to consciousness.
Monhanpura Private Bus Terminus is one of the busiest bus terminuses of Andaman and Nicobar Islands but it is always seen lacking some or the other facilities for the passengers. Although a water tank has been provided by the authority for providing drinking waters to passengers but the tank neither has a tap nor water. Situation is so bad that even in case of emergency passengers do not find a single drop of water from the tank. One wonders that what is the need of installing such water tanks, when the authorities do not maintain it.
The administration should wake up at this hour and plan to provide atleast the basic facilities for the public at places like bus terminus.
