Port Blair, Oct 07: PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt Governor to consider fund for disbursement of Salary and wages and payments of statutory dues to ANIFPDCL employees. In his letter Sharma wrote that from August, 2013 the employees of ANIFPDCL are deprived of getting their monthly wages and salary due to non availability of funds.
At present there are about 1300 employees, working in the Corporation. The Corporation could not even deposit the PF remittances and welfare fund contributions from July, 2013 onward, which are statutory obligations.
Sharma has also requested the Lt Governor to feel the nerves of the poor Employees of the Corporation who are unable to purchase their daily necessities viz Ration items for their families. Most of them, whose children are studying at mainland are unable to remit money to them while payments of house rent and electricity bills remain due for payment. Celebration of festivity of Durga Puja, Deepawali and other such festivals has become a day dream to them and hence requested to consider allotment of necessary funds from the AN Administration at an early date as loan so that the salaries and wages can be disbursed to them and also the Corporation can settle the statutory dues to avoid being defaulter for no fault of the Corporation and the loan so granted may be got adjusted from the loan assistance to be received from the Ministry of Environment and Forests, New Delhi by the Corporation.
