Port Blair, Oct 05: PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt Governor to consider a full-fledged Arts and Culture Centre at Port Blair. Kuldeep has written that these Islands are enriched with various Indian arts and culture, since people from all parts of mainland have settled here. People knowing Kuchipudi, Bharatnatyam, Kathak, tribal dance forms to Carnatick, Ravindrda Sangeet, Baul sangeet, Nicobari songs, other Indian classical and semi classical music, fine arts are available here. Beside, many are very much interested and involved in staging Drama and dance drama also.
But all these knowledgeable artists are scattered who, if given a chance to work together, may create a history at the National level while Many young talented islanders will also thus get a chance to enter into the field of Arts and Culture and find a prosperous future. Kuldeep has also written that in case such centre is established with trained personnel and facilities of boarding for the artists from inter islands, the consideration will go a long way and the islands will get many talented artists to make the islanders proud.
