Port Blair, Sept. 18: A presentation was made to the Hon’ble Lt Governor by the Directorate of IP&T on the new format for ‘The Daily Telegrams” and ‘Dweep Samachar’ newspapers.
The Lt. Governor observed that while the focus of the newspapers should remain primarily on the activities of the Island territory, national and international news should also be incorporated in a brief. He further expressed his satisfaction that the IP&T Department has decided to insert an editorial column and new features such as ‘Letters to the Editor’ etc. In this regard, he observed that the newspapers should also seek the views and suggestions of the readers as well. Further, reporting in these newspapers should be objective, balanced and comprehensive. ‘The Daily Telegrams’ and ‘Dweep Samachar’ are now being uploaded on the website of the Administration-www.and.nic.in.
