Port Blair, Sept 15: Through his sheer grit and determination a youth from Andaman and Nicobar Islands has become the Additional Superintendent of Police of Birbhum District West Bengal.
Prasanta Choudhury from West Bengal Police Service (WBPS) 2005 batch has been appointed at Additional SP Birbhum from 14th September 2013.
Son of Mr. S P Choudhury, Retd. CI, Education Department and Mrs. Suniti Choudhury, Electricity Department, resident of 1, FMC Road, Prem Nagar (near Kalibari) had completed his schooling from Carmel School, Port Blair and Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 after which he completed engineering from Malaviya Regional Engineering College – MREC, Jaipur (Presently known as Malaviya National Institute of Technology – MNIT)
ASP Prasanta Choudhury has completed his District Training (Probation) from Darjeeling after which he was posted in Puruliya District twice as Dy.S.P D&T and SDPO Raghunathpur; West Midnapore District as SDPO Kharagpur; Bankura District as Dy.S.P DIB; thrice in Birbhum District as Dy.S.P D&T, SDPO Bolpur and now Additional SP Birbhum.
