Port Blair, Sept. 5: Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament has once again taken up the case of implementation of the scheme to provide laptop to the students of Govt. Institutions including Technical and Degree Colleges, with the Lt. Governor, A & N Islands.
According to reports the scheme was conceived during 2010-11 with a provision of Rs. 04 Crores under the Annual Plan 2013-14 against the scheme No. 03 in the caption of “Computer Education & other Innovative Programme in Schools”. In the same scheme in Pg. No. Z-41 envisaged for supply of 7,000 laptops in each year to the students of Govt. Institutions.
The MP has requested to issue appropriate directions to the Education Department for the implementation of the scheme at the earliest, so that the students can avail the benefits of the schemes of the Education.
