Port Blair, Sept 01: The renowned poet from the Islands, Mrs D M Savitri has been conferred the prestigious Lok Mangal Sahitya Samman award by Gwalior Sahitya Academy recently. The Collector of Gwalior District, Narhari presented her this award along with Rs.5000 cash, a memento and a felicitation certificate in a literary function held at Gwalior in Madya Pradesh recently for her thematic collection of poems titled ‘ Sagar Bala.’
Earlier, the collector released this first thematic poetry collection of D M Savitri, Sagar Bala. An eminent Poet of Madhya Pradesh, Prakash Mishra presided over the programm, while the President of Gwalior Sahitya Academy and well known poet, Bhagavan Swarup Sharma -‘Chaithanya’ reviewed the collection of poems, Sagar Bala.
A number of poets and literary persons attended the programme held under the auspices of Gwalior Sahitya Academy.
