Port Blair, Aug 26: PCC President, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma along with a delegation of Cattle owners recently met the Chief Secretary Mr. Anand Prakash and briefed him about the problems being faced by them. He requested the Chief Secretary to kindly supply of proper fodder to the owners at subsidized rate. Sharma has also stated that in and around there is scarcity of grazing field which is very much necessary for natural feeding and health of the cattle and thus has requested to ear mark grazing fields for the cattle. Sharma has also stated that due to scarcity of grazing fields, sometimes the cattle move around the road and put to cattle pounds being caught. To release such cattle, the cattle owners have to pay Rs. 500/- per cattle as fine, which is also too much for the poor owners and has requested to reduce such fine amount to Rs. 50/-.
Further to it Kuldeep has also requested for availability of veterinary doctor round the clock throughout the week in the veterinary hospital so that, during urgency proper treatment to the cattle may be provided at any time. The Chief Secretary has given a patient hearing and assured to look into the matters.
