Port Blair, August 16: The Body Building Championship “Mr. Carnic” was organized by District Police Nicobar at Community Hall Perka, Car Nicobar on Independence Day 2013. 12 participants from different villages of the Island took part in the event. Mr. J. Albenius of Small Lapathy won the event in 75 Kg and above category while Mr. Essaw of Perka won the title in below 75 Kg category. The event saw great enthusiasm from the people of Nicobar Who turned out in a large number to witness the event.
Winners were given trophies and cash prizes by DC Nicobar, SP Nicobar and Secretary Tribal Council. The event was organized as a part of the initiative started by the District Police to promote health and physical fitness amongst the people of the Island, a communication from SP, Nicobar District said here.
