Port Blair, Aug 12: The DGP (I/c) Mr. Balaji Srivastava, IPS, A&N Islands visited Campbell Bay on 10.08.2013. He visited the Police establishments and discussed the matters related to security of the Islands with the officers of Army, Navy and Coast Guard. Later, he interacted with the officers of the Administration and members of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).
He announced the start of PCR van facility in Campbell Bay to ensure better coverage and patrolling of the area.
He also announced the re-deployment of Police Radio staff at LOP Afra Bay on the request of Chief Tribal Council. Tribal youth one each from Afra Bay and Makachua were enrolled as Home Guards. The DGP (I/c) handed over the appointment letters to Chief Tribal Council and Secretary, Tribal Council. On the request of Pradhan, Panchayat Samiti, the DGP (I/c) assured the next programme by Police Entertainment Team at Campbell Bay in near future. The DGP (I/c) assured the people all possible help from the Police department and requested them to pass on any sensitive information to police immediately.
