Billiground, Aug 6: A new STS Ticketing Counter was inaugurated today at Billigtound Bazar. Since a long time the residents of Nimbudera to Betapur areas were facing problems because of not having a proper STS Ticket Booking Counter.
Realizing the depth of the problems of the people of these areas, the pradhan of the area, Mr. Hirenmoy Roy had taken initiatives and took up the matter with the concerned authority of the STS and ultimately the STS department agreed to open a ticket Booking Counter at Billyground with a term that the expenditure of making the Counter shall have to be borne by the Panchayat. The Harinagar Gram Panchayat spent more than Rs, 36,000/- to construct the Counter.
Today the STS Ticket Booking Counter was inaugurated by Mr. Minj, AE (Mechanical), Rangat, STS Unit and he was accompanied by Mr. Suman, JE, Rangat Unit, Pradhan, PRI’s Harinagar.
On this occasion Mr. Roy urged the STS authority to provide facilities to issue return ticket from the counter so that the people do not suffer for return ticket at Port Blair. He also urged to make this counter an E-Ticket counter.
He also demanded that the administration should replace the old Nimbudera Express Bus and provide new Bus for the route and urged to give another extra Bus for the area because one bus is not enough for the large route.
