Port Blair, August 06: A delegation of Andhra Association, Port Blair consisting of Mr. P. Surya Rao, President, Mr. V. Keshav Murthy, General Secretary, Mr. K Vasudev, Vice President, Mr. P Vamanna, Treasurer and Mr. T Mohan Rao, Executive Member met the Lieutenant Governor, Lt. Gen (Retd), AK Singh, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM at Raj Niwas, Port Blair yesterday.
In this meet, the Lt. Governor gave a patient hearing and discussed various issued like, Reservation of MBBS, Engineering & allied courses seats to Telugu Origins of these islands, opening of ticketing counter at Vishakhapatnam by DSS, operating commercial Air Crafts between Port Blair, Vishakhapatnam via Bangalore/ Hyderabad/ Bhuvaneswar, opening of Science Stream in the Govt. Sr. Sec. School (Telugu Medium) Haddo and Allotment of land for construction of school by the management of the association.
The delegation also expressed their best wishes to the Lt. Governor on assumption of charge as Lt. Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The delegation also gave assurance to extend support and cooperation in all developmental activities, a communication from the General Secretary, Andhra Association said here.
