Port Blair, Aug 5: Mr. B.P Ray. Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to Lt. Governor of A & N Islands for the kind of response in the matter of counting of past services of 495 Electricity Mazdoors from the date of actual engagement only for the purpose of retirement and pensionary benefits. It is for the first time that the Lt. Governor himself acknowledged the letter of Member of Parliament.
“Lt. Governor has taken the issue seriously and gave directions to the concerned officers to process the case for expeditious implementation of orders of Hon’ble High Court of Calcutta Circuit Bench at Port Blair in the matter of Mr. J. Lokanathan & Ors -versus Union of India and other in WPCT No.666/2012,” a communication from the MP said today.
