Port Blair, Jul 26: Mr. B.P Ray, Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands in his letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Administration has stated the problems of the temporary workers who were engaged in the education department as part time pre-primary teachers, aayas etc.
He further explained him the problems of the part time workers who worked in the education department, he stated that there are about 115 part time pre primary teachers, aayas who did not get employment since January 2012. He further added that the Administration had framed Recruitment Rule for the Part Time Teachers in which the department has prescribed educational qualification of 12th passed and Montessori/JBT compulsory.
He further informed him that Most of the Part time Pre-Primary Teachers are 10th passed who do not qualify as per above Recruitment Rules of Education Department and these teachers have become ineligible according to the present recruitment rules.
He also added that al the 115 part time workers worked continuously for 5 to 25 years without break in the education department except from the last one and a half years and these workers have crossed their age and are poor and are interested to work.
He concluded his letter by requesting the chief secretary to engage all the 115 part time workers at the earliest.
