Sri Vijaya Puram, November 2: Mr. Anil Kumar Tiwari, State President, BJP, A & N Islands, has mocked the INDIA bloc’s rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan yesterday, calling it a super flop show. He observed that almost half of the maidan was empty. Taking a swipe at Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders, he asked them where the gathering of 10 lakh people they were claiming was.
Mr. Tiwari said that Rahul Gandhi was addressing empty chairs as the Congress could not fill the maidan’s capacity of 50,000, leave aside the claim of a 10 lakh gathering.
He said that through this march, they are “venting their frustration” over their electoral defeats by levelling baseless allegations against the constitutional bodies to malign their image.
He accused the Congress of attempting to create political instability and criticised the party for holding the demonstration on the anniversary of the 1984 violence.
The BJP held a counter “Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao” (Save Democracy, End Anarchy) padayatra in various places in the country and accused Gandhi and the Congress of eroding faith in democratic institutions.
In line with the rest of the country, the BJP will be organising a padayatra in Sri Vijaya Puram on Thursday.
