Sri Vijaya Puram, November 1: As part of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas observance, the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Mr. Gyanesh Bharti, IAS, administered the Rashtriya Ekta pledge to the officers and staff of the A&N Administration at the Secretariat yesterday.
The District Administration, South Andaman, also observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas yesterday at the Conference Hall, District Office, South Andaman. The programme was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Ms. Purva Garg, IAS. Mrs. Priyanka Kumari, ADM, South Andaman, and other officers and staff were present.
The occasion marks the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India.
On the occasion, the National Unity Pledge was administered by the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, wherein all officials pledged to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation and to strive towards the vision of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, emphasised that all officers and staff must uphold the spirit of unity and integrity in their day-to-day functioning and ensure dedicated public service at their workplace.
