Sri Vijaya Puram, October 26: The Island Beach Games, which were scheduled to be held at Wandoor and Ramnagar, Diglipur, on October 30 and 31 by the Directorate of Tourism in collaboration with the District Administration (N&M Andaman), Sports & Youth Affairs, and Rural Development and Panchayat, have been postponed due to the adverse weather forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department, Met. Centre, Sri Vijaya Puram. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in the interest of public safety and to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. The revised dates will be announced shortly.
However, as mentioned in the earlier press release, those interested in participating in events like Beach Volleyball, Tug of War, Arm Wrestling and 100-Metre Sprint at Wandoor Beach may contact Mr. Khalid, Coach, Sports & Youth Affairs (9434290640), while those interested in participating in the events at Ramnagar Beach, Diglipur, may contact Mr. Bijoy Halder, Block Development Officer (BDO), Diglipur, for further information and registration.
