Sri Vijaya Puram, October 25: Mr. Rakeshwar Lall, State President, Hindu Rashtra Shakti, A & N Islands, has urged the Lt. Governor to start a Video Conferencing facility for the Janta Darshan for inter-island people of all districts. In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament, the Chief Secretary and the Assistant Secretary (AR Wing), A & N Administration, he drew attention to the press release issued by the Deputy Commissioner (SA), Mrs. Purva Garg, IAS, regarding the Janta Darshan at Lok Niwas on 30.10.2026, with registration latest by 28.10.2026.
“We wholeheartedly welcome and thank the Lt. Governor for this historic Janta Darshan initiative,” he said.
However, he pointed out that the people residing in the inter-islands, i.e. North and Middle Andaman, Shaheed Dweep, Swaraj Dweep, Little Andaman, Car Nicobar, Kamorta, Campbell Bay and other remote islands, are unable to attend the Janta Darshan at Sri Vijaya Puram due to high travel costs, non-availability of conveyance and loss of daily wages. They also have various grievances which they want to place before the Lt. Governor.
Hence, on behalf of Hindu Rashtra Shakti and the people of the inter-islands, he requested the Lt. Governor to kindly consider starting a Video Conferencing-based Janta Darshan from all districts and tehsils. People can register through the same state portal links, http://andamannicobar.gov.in and http://southandaman.nic.in, and join via Video Conferencing from their respective district headquarters. Priority may still be given to senior citizens and divyangjans via Video Conferencing also.
This initiative will bring great hope among the inter-island people and fulfil the true spirit of Digital India. All islanders will get an equal opportunity to place their grievances before the Lt. Governor directly, he said.
