Port Blair, July 04: It has been learnt from reliable sources that the new Lt. Governor (Retd.) A K Singh will take oath of office on coming Sunday or Monday. According to reports, Lt. Gen (Retd.) Bhopinder Singh will bid farewell to these Islands on 6th July 2013 and the new Lt. Governor will arrive Port Blair on 7th July 2013. As per rules the Governor’s seat should not be kept empty for more than 24 hours, hence it is believed that on 7th July 2013 itself, the new Lt. Governor will take over charge. However, as 7th July is Sunday the swearing in function may also take place on Monday.
