Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 1: In connection with Swachh Bharat Diwas, being observed on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the Department of Science & Technology (S&T), A&N Administration, is organizing a Reel Making Competition on the theme: “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag; Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat.” The competition aims to encourage citizens, particularly students and young people, to use creative digital content to promote cleanliness, responsible waste management and sustainable practices across the Islands.
Participants are invited to create an original reel of maximum 90 seconds highlighting practical and innovative ideas related to cleanliness and environmental sustainability. The competition is open under two categories: School/College Students and Open to All. Participation may be individual or in a team of maximum 03 members. The last date for submission of entries is 09.10.2026.
Suggested themes includes, ban on Single-Use Plastics (SUPs) and sustainable alternatives; organic waste management and home composting; four-way waste segregation; earning from waste; Reduce, Reuse and Recycle (RRR); wasteless lifestyle; and innovative ways to make cleanliness drives more effective.
Participants may upload their reels on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn and submit the link https://forms.gle/88DZJmapp4ykqxQf9 and QR Code.
Participants are required to mention Department of Science & Technology (S&T) and Andaman & Nicobar Pollution Control Committee (ANPCC), A&N Administration at the end of the reel or in the credits. The submitted reels must be original and factually accurate, and necessary permissions must be obtained for any third-party content used.
