
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 01: The Valedictory Ceremony of Hindi Fortnight–2026 was organised at the ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute (CIARI), Sri Vijaya Puram, under the direction and guidance of Dr. Jai Sundar, Director, ICAR-CIARI, in an enthusiastic and dignified atmosphere. Scientists, officers and employees of the institute participated enthusiastically in the programme.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Kanishk Bhukar, Administrative Officer. This was followed by a brief presentation by Mrs. Reena Saha, In-charge, Hindi Cell, on the various programmes and competitions organised during the Hindi Fortnight. Various competitions, including essay writing, letter writing, Hindi typing, Antakshari, quiz and extempore speech, were conducted with the objective of encouraging interest in Hindi and promoting the use of Hindi in official work.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Dileep Kumar Jha, Scientist-F and Officer-in-Charge, National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Sri Vijaya Puram, distributed prizes and certificates to the winners of the various competitions. In his address, he called upon scientists and researchers to publish more research papers and scientific material in Hindi. He emphasised that presenting scientific and agricultural information in a simple and accessible language would help convey such information more effectively to farmers and the general public.
In his presidential address, Dr. Jai Sundar, Director, ICAR-CIARI, congratulated the Hindi Cell and all officers and employees who contributed to the successful organisation of the Hindi Fortnight. He called upon the officers and employees of the institute to promote the maximum possible use of Hindi in official work and make continuous efforts towards achieving 100 per cent use of Hindi in official work through the progressive use of Hindi as the Official Language.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Brajesh Kumar, while Mr. Shyam Sundar Rao conducted the programme.
