Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 28: The Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad South Andaman (ZPSA), Mr. P. Ummer, inaugurated the newly constructed Cement Concrete (CC) road from the Main Road to the residence of Mr. Rakesh Sil, via the residences of Mr. Sudeb Sil and Mr. Nibash Sil, house at Wandoor Ward No. 4.
The inauguration function was presided over by the Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad South Andaman, Mr. Rajanish Kumar Singh, IAS. Mr. Prakash Adhikari, ZPM, Guptapara; Mr. S.K.Gupta, Superintending Engineer (PRI) Mr. Bharat Sharma, PSM and Mr. Uttam Kumar Roy, Up-Pradhan, GP Wandoor along with other Zilla Parishad & PRI members, Engineering Wing and a large number of local residents, were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the Adhyaksh stated that providing better road connectivity and basic infrastructure in rural areas remains one of the priority areas of the Zilla Parishad. He emphasized that construction and improvement of village roads not only facilitates the daily movement of residents but also improves access to essential services, educational institutions, healthcare facilities and markets. He further stated that the Zilla Parishad is committed to taking up development works based on the genuine needs and priorities of local communities. Such infrastructure projects are aimed at improving the quality of life of rural residents and strengthening connectivity in the Panchayat areas.
The Adhyaksh also appreciated the cooperation extended by the PRI representatives and local residents in facilitating the completion of the road project. He assured the gathering that efforts would continue to be made to address other essential infrastructure requirements of the area in a phased manner.
The local residents expressed their gratitude to the Zilla Parishad and the PRI representatives for providing the much-needed road connectivity in the locality.
