Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 27: A delegation of the INTUC Federation called on the Secretary Municipal and the Chairperson of the Municipal Council and held detailed discussions on various issues concerning municipal workers and their welfare.
The delegation was led by Mr. Swaminath Jaiswal, National President, INTUC Federation, and comprised Dr. Rajesh Garhia National Senior Vice President, INTUC Federation; Mr. TSG Bhasker, National Vice President, INTUC Federation; Mr. K.P. Usman, State President, INTUC Federation; Mr. Mohd. Rafi, General Secretary, INTUC, and Mr. Anand Rao, Vice President, INTUC Federation.
During the meeting, the delegation placed a demand before the Secretary regarding conduct of medical camps for municipal workers in every three months. The Secretary, Municipal assured the delegation of positive consideration towards organising regular medical camps for the workers.
The delegation also took up the important issue of regularisation of DRM and Contract workers, providing adequate sanitary equipment for sanitary workers, increasing manpower and several other issues.
