Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 25: The 150th Year of “Vande Mataram”, under the “Namami Bharatam” celebration, was commemorated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at Saraswati Shishu Mandir Sr. Sec. School, Pathergudda, Sri Vijaya Puram and Saraswati Shishu Vidhya Mandir, Rangat. The programme was organized by Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan New Delhi through Saraswati Shiksha Samiti, Andaman Pranth.
The programme witnessed the participation of 1,256 persons, including 145 students and members from Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Rangat. The gathering comprised students, teachers, non-teaching staff, members of the School Management Committee, parents, alumni, and representatives of various organizations.
The Chief Guest of the programme was Colonel Mr. K. V. Cherian (Retd.), Army Veteran. The Guest of Honour was Mr. S. K. Asok Raja, Director, Government of India, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Meteorological Department, Shadipur, Sri Vijaya Puram. Ms. B. Varsa, Secretary, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, A&N Islands, graced the occasion as the Special Guest.
The programme commenced with the formal flag hoisting by the Chief Guest, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem. At exactly 11:00 AM, all the participants joined together in singing “Vande Mataram”, creating an atmosphere of patriotism and national pride.
The celebration highlighted the historical and cultural significance of “Vande Mataram”, which has served as an enduring source of inspiration in India’s national life. The collective participation of students, teachers, parents, alumni and members of different organizations reflected a spirit of unity and respect for the nation’s cultural heritage.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the distinguished guests, participating institutions, parents, students, volunteers and all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the celebration.
The programme ended with the inspiring slogans: “Jai Vidya! Jai Sanskriti! Jai Maa Bharati!”
