Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 22: The National Service Scheme (NSS), Mahatma Gandhi Government College (MGGC), Mayabunder, organised a Digital Fraud Awareness Programme for the students of the College on 22 September 2026 at the College Conference Room, with the objective of creating awareness among students about the growing risks associated with digital transactions, online fraud and cyber-related financial crimes.
Dr. R. V. R. Murthy, Principal, Mahatma Gandhi Government College, Mayabunder, graced the programme as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasised the importance of being alert and responsible while using digital platforms and making online financial transactions.
Mrs. Tripti Sarkar, Centre Manager, Centre for Financial Literacy (CFL), State Bank of India (SBI), Mayabunder, served as the Resource Person and delivered an informative session on digital fraud and financial cyber safety.
The interactive session provided students with an opportunity to understand common methods adopted by fraudsters and the importance of maintaining digital hygiene and financial discipline.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Kandimuthu, NSS Programme Officer, MGGC Mayabunder. The programme concluded with a call to the students to “Stay Alert, Stay Safe and Think Before You Click.”
