Port Blair, June 30: Preferred Time Delivery Vehicle was inaugurated by Mr. Som Naidu, Director (CS&CA), A & N Administration, Port Blair on 29.06.2013 in presence of Officials CS&CA, Indian Oil, CCS and general public. This was a long awaited facility for the LPG consumers, specially for the working couple or single customers who were facing difficulty in getting LPG cylinders at home during working/office hours. Inconvenience is being faced by both distributors and customers when found “door locked” during delivery. Therefore, Home Delivery of Cylinder as per customers’ convenient has been introduced. This will benefit mostly the working couples and also other customers who wish to receive cylinders at specific day and time at an extra cost of Rs. 50.00, in addition to the cost of refill cylinder. Initially, this facility is being provided only by M/s CCS Ltd., to the limited customers of Junglighat Colony, Chakargaon Colony & Mohanpura Colony only. To avail this facility the consumer has to register directly at M/s CCS Ltd., Delanipur. Once registered, the option of PTD cannot be revert back before six months. As of now, Preferred time is in two slots : 07:00 to 09:00 AM and 06:00 to 08:00 PM from Monday to Saturday. In case the customer misses delivery, he gets next week day at the same time. In case customers are not available at home during the delivery consecutively for two times, Status of preferred time customer will be withdrawn.
