Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 13: A massive 5,575-kg laddu prepared as part of Ganesh Bhog Yatra 2026 was publicly displayed on Sunday, attracting devotees and visitors in large numbers. The laddu surpassed last year’s 4,442-kg record by 1,133 kg, setting a new record.
According to India Book of Records, a 4,442-kg laddu was prepared in 2025 by Chef Ashwar Pal Singh in association with 4-Seasons Event Management. The organisers said the team worked continuously to surpass last year’s record and successfully achieved the target this year.
Speaking on the occasion, Chef Ashwar Pal Singh of 4-Seasons Event Management said the much-awaited laddu was now on public display and appealed to devotees to visit the pandal and seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha.
The pandal this year follows the theme “Nature and Tradition,” highlighting the importance of nature, culture and traditional values. Singh said the theme aims to convey a message about the role of nature in people’s lives while introducing the younger generation to India’s cultural traditions.
The tradition of preparing a giant laddu during the Ganesh Bhog Yatra has continued for several years. The organisers said the 5,575-kg laddu reflects the collective efforts and dedication of the entire team.
He further announced that a grand procession will be taken out on September 14 at 2:00 pm. The procession will begin from the celebration venue and pass through several parts of Sri Vijaya Puram before proceeding towards Netaji Club, with the giant laddu and Lord Ganesha forming the centrepiece of the event.
