
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 10: JNRM observed World Suicide Prevention Day on 10th September with an interactive session by mental health experts from GB Pant Hospital. The programme was organised and coordinated by Mr. Sudesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, JNRM, under the aegis of the Mental Health and Well-being Committee, JNRM.
The programme began with a Welcome Address by Dr. Binitendra Naath Mongal, Assistant Professor, JNRM, who highlighted the importance of collective efforts in promoting mental well-being and suicide prevention. Dr. Pearl Devdas, Principal, JNRM, delivered the Keynote Address, emphasising the role of educational institutions in creating safe and supportive spaces for students and faculty.
The interactive session featured Ms. Geeta Rani Saha, Counsellor, Tele-MANAS, and Ms. Ambika Paul, Project Coordinator, Tele-MANAS, both from GB Pant Hospital. They discussed suicide prevention, coping strategies, early intervention, and the importance of accessible mental health support.
The programme concluded with a collective pledge reaffirming the commitment of the JNRM community to promoting mental health awareness and supporting suicide prevention initiatives.
