Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 07: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the coming days.
The weather system is likely to produce gusty winds reaching 30–40 kmph at one or two places over the islands, with the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning.
The IMD has also issued a fisherman warning for the Andaman and Nicobar coast, advising caution due to swell waves. Fishermen have been urged to exercise care while venturing into the sea.
Meanwhile, the port weather outlook for the subsequent two days indicates little change.
