Billyground, Sept 05: In a major boost to regional healthcare infrastructure, Dr. H.M. Siddaraju, Director of Health Services, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, visited the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Billyground today to finalize plans for two long-pending local demands. Fulfilling a critical healthcare need, the Director approved the installation of a new Dialysis Unit at the PHC and identified the specific site for its construction alongside Dr. Shailaja P., CMO (NFSG), Shri Manojit Halder, Pradhan GP Harinagar, Shri Hiranmoy Roy , Ex-Pradhan, and the PHC staff. Additionally, acting on the directives of the Chief Secretary following a prior meeting with the Pradhan, Dr. Siddaraju inspected the staff housing conditions and announced that the old, dilapidated quarters will be dismantled to clear the way for four new Type-IV quarters for doctors. The Pradhan suggested a suitable site for the residential complex during the visit, and the Director assured the delegation that administrative processes would be initiated immediately to fast-track both projects, prompting public representatives to express their sincere gratitude to the Director.
