Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 02: The Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS) conducted an Infertility Camp at Rajiv Nagar on 29th August 2026 as part of the ongoing series of infertility camps being organised across the Islands to improve the reproductive health of bovines.
During the camp, a total of 16 animals were dewormed and 16 animals were provided with mineral mixture supplement to address nutritional deficiencies. Injection Tonophosphan was administered to three animals. Estrocid Bolus was provided to three cattle found in anoestrus, and Rumentas Bolus was given to three cattle having anoestrus and nutritional deficiency.
The livestock owners present at the camp were also advised on scientific nutritional management of cattle, including balanced feeding, provision of adequate green fodder, concentrate feed and clean water for better reproductive health and productivity. Emphasis was laid on the importance of timely treatment of infertility-related conditions and regular health monitoring of dairy animals.
The camp formed part of the Department’s continuous efforts to address infertility issues in bovines and support dairy farmers through timely diagnosis, treatment and nutritional support.
