Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 01: The NSS Unit of Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya, Sri Vijaya Puram, organised an Orientation-cum-Enrolment Programme for first-year students on 01 September 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Lecture Gallery. The programme aimed to familiarise newly admitted students with the objectives, values, activities and responsibilities of the National Service Scheme (NSS).
Dr. Pearl Devdas, Principal, JNRM, addressed the gathering and emphasised the importance of community engagement and the role of NSS in fostering social responsibility and a spirit of service among students.
Mrs. Nidhi Shekhawat, NSS Coordinator, appreciated the efforts of the Programme Officers and volunteers and briefed the students on the NSS plans and annual activity calendar.
Mr. Sudesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany and NSS Programme Officer, Unit II, delivered a presentation on the roles and responsibilities of NSS volunteers. Volunteers Mubasheera, Thushar Sarkar and Jamuna Nayak presented on Swachh Bharat, Drug Abuse and Disaster Management, and Women and Child Development, respectively. NSS Volunteer Likhitha shared her experiences and encouraged students to enrol in NSS.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. Nitin Kumar Singh, NSS Programme Officer, Unit III, who coordinated the programme. The event was hosted by Jamuna Nayak and Mukesh Paik and witnessed enthusiastic participation from first-year students.
