Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 24: As part of the celebrations of National Sports Day 2026, the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Sri Vijaya Puram, conducted the Badminton and Squash Tournament Finals and Snooker Quarter-Finals on 23rd August, 2026, with enthusiastic participation from sports enthusiasts.
The Badminton and Squash Tournament Finals witnessed closely contested matches. The results are Badminton – Men’s Open Doubles winner Aditya and Gautam; Badminton – Women’s Open Doubles winner A. Anitha and A. Rachel; Badminton – Men’s Veteran Open Doubles Winner V Ranjith Kumar and Thiru; Badminton – Women’s Veteran Open Doubles Winner Dr. S Prabha Wati and M. Pricilla; Squash Tournament winner Akshay.
The prize distribution ceremony for the winners and runners-up will be held on August 29, 2026. The National Sports Day celebrations will continue with several more matches and competitions in different sporting disciplines in the coming days, providing further opportunities for players to showcase their skills and encouraging greater participation in sports and fitness.
