
Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 24: MY Bharat, Sri Vijaya Puram, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, will organise the “Khelo India Samvaad” programme on 27th August 2026 on the occasion of National Sports Day.
The programme aims to bring youth, sportspersons and the nation’s sporting future onto a common platform, with a focus on Youth Participation, Sports Development and Nation Building.
As part of the programme, youth participants will join the address of the Prime Minister, followed by a local Yuva Samvaad, providing an opportunity for young participants to interact with accomplished sportspersons and public representatives and share their ideas, suggestions and aspirations.
In South Andaman, the programme is proposed to be organised at two venues:
• Tagore Government College of Education (TGCE), Sri Vijaya Puram – approximately 100 youth participants.
• Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT), Dollygunj, Sri Vijaya Puram – approximately 500 youth participants.
The Yuva Samvaad will focus on key themes including Strengthening the Sports Ecosystem, Nurturing Talent for the 2036 Olympics, Youth Leadership and Participation in Governance, and Youth Empowerment for Viksit Bharat.
The programme will also provide an opportunity for youth to interact with Sports Icons/Sportspersons and public representatives, enabling them to draw inspiration from sporting achievements and discuss the future of sports and youth participation in nation-building.
MY Bharat, Sri Vijaya Puram has invited distinguished sportspersons and public representatives to participate in the programme and inspire the youth of the Islands.
The programme is expected to witness enthusiastic participation from students and youth of various Higher Educational Institutions, thereby strengthening the spirit of sports, fitness, leadership and constructive youth engagement.
